Why failure can be good for us!

To "fail" after trying is not failing, failing is not trying in the first place.

Failure is a judgemental and subjective word with very negative connotations and should be used only after careful consideration when assessing the outcome of any task/project/goal. As individuals we are in control of our thoughts and judgement and when we look at ourselves, and our achievements, it should be with a positive mindset. Very rarely should we come to the conclusion that the time, effort and thought that we have put into a task is a complete failure, even if we did not reach our objective on this occasion. While the goals we had originally aimed for may not have been fully achieved, the process that we went through should be viewed as experience and practice for our next task; to take this view is to ensure that we use previous experiences in a positive way to improve our chances of success next time around.

A positive mindset is a crucial factor for success and happiness for any individual. While this is a fact, such a mindset can be difficult to achieve and sustain over time, especially modern society where criticism, negativity, and the influence of social media can be such a drag on positive thinking! As individual beings, with control of our thoughts and actions, this is where the secret to happy and successful lives lies, and your happiness and success are for you to measure and judge for yourself.

So back to the subject of failure. If you have attempted to achieve a goal or a certain outcome, but feel that you have fallen short, then think about what positive experiences you had, what went well, think about what you could do better next time, think about what opportunities may have come from the experience, but do not think of failure, for you have strived and next time you will have a better outcome.
